At long last an Update

Well, it's been far too long since I have posted anything. Of course, Caleb has changed dramatically in the last two months as I'm sure all infants do. Let's see a brief recap of milestones. On June 26, Caleb was baptized at St. Francis of the Islands. Everyone was there (both sets of grandparents, his Aunt Emily and Uncle Todd, Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Adam, Mira, Isabella, Jack and Catalina Strother, the Stubbs, and Nancy and Leo Beckmann. We all had a nice dinner at the house afterwards with Father Jim in attendance. I posted some pictures from the celebration back in June. They are below. July 8,9 and 10, we all went to Durham to visit with Harriett and Dan. We took Caleb to the pool for the first time and he really enjoyed it. Seems to be a natural in the water. A huge smile came over his face when we put him into his floatie. We also took him to the farmer's market in Durham which was a new experience for him. Other wise we hung out around the farmhouse with Dan and Harriet. July 15 - 23, we all went to Edisto to spend the week with Mom and Dad. We had a great time. Caleb really enjoyed the ocean. He was a bit uncertain at first because of the loud sounds of the ocean and the moving water, but by his second time on the beach, he was smiling and enjoying the water. We also got to take him to the pool several times which he just loves. His mother let him put his face under a couple of times which did not bother him at all. He seemed to enjoy it and now, every time we take him to a pool, he wants to put his face in the water. Caleb has also begun to crawl. He spent several weeks struggling with learning how and it finally clicked for him this week. He is using a modified crawl technique where he puts his two hands down and then drags both legs behind him, but he is up on all fours and is motivating around the house. He is also trying to pull himself up on anything he can find. Last night, he sat up on his own for the first time. It was only for a few seconds, but is exciting anyway. He had a doctor's visit on Tuesday, July 226 and he now weighs 15 lbs, 12 oz and is 27 inches long. According to all reports, he is doing fantastically well.
