Caleb's Doctor Visit

Mommy took Caleb to see Dr. Ben yesterday for his eight week checkup. He weighs eleven (11) pounds and is twenty-three (23) inches long. This puts him in the 50th percentile for height and weight. His head however measured in the 10th percentile. I guess this means he will look like a bowling pin. Ha Ha :) Anyway, he seems to being well though still congested. The doctor prescribed some other medications for the congestion which we are going to try out. We'll see if that helps.

Progress Report

Well, Caleb certainly had a big weekend this past weekend. He took his very first trip to Sam's Wholesale Club (a Smith family tradition). He certainly enjoyed walking up and down the aisles with Mom and Dad and taking in the whole affair. He even got to buy a huge package of diapers. On Sunday we tried to take him to the beach for his first beach walk, but it was a bit too nippy for the little lad, so alas we had to turn back. He continues to smile and make noises, for longer periods each day. He certainly has a cute smile. Unfortunately, he's been very congested of late and Mommy is going to call the doctor to see if there is anything we can do. The congestion has been interrupting his sleep and creating sleepless nights for Mommy and Daddy. We also took him out of his swaddling blanket last night as apparently you should only swaddle them to about eight weeks or it impairs development (that is what "they" say, but what do "they" know?). That's all for now. Oh, I will post a couple of new pictures when I have time to load them up.

Homecoming! Posted by Hello

A day in the life . . .

I haven't had time to post in a few days, but thought I would type a few lines tonight. Caleb has had a restless couple of days. It seemed over the weekend that we had finally gotten into a routine where he would sleep for five or six hours at a time per night, and then last night, he was not feeling well (he was/is very congested) and he barely slept at all last night. Hopefully tonight he'll do better. We put him back into his car seat to sleep which seems to alleviate his congestion somewhat. Got an email from his great grandad today and his great grandparents will be coming to see him later this month. He's very excited about that.
