Sick . . .

Caleb and mommy have been sick this week. Nothing too serious, just colds, but they have been miserable. Nothing like a baby crying all day to drive you over the edge. Last weekend, the whole fam went to Charlotte for cousin Mira's first birthday. It was a lot of fun. Mira got to try sugar for the first time which seemed to please her. She got a lot of neat gifts. We also got to visit with Stu and Carol whom we had not seen in a while. It was nice to see them. The grands were there also and Caleb enjoyed seeing them.

Caleb's newest development is pushing things away. If he doesn't want his bottle or some other object, he will put up his hands and push it away. It's interesting to watch him learn small things like that and to realize that we really are not very instinctual creatures, but learn most of our behaviors based on our environments. Or that's what I think anyway . . .

Caleb Update

Caleb has had an eventful last couple of weeks in April with visits from his great grandparents and both sets of his grandparents. He's really doing well now. He has begun to sleep six and seven hours at night which is a great relief to his parents. He has a really delightful personality and is generally very cheerful. We continue to drag him everywhere with us. He's been to Hilton Head shopping and out to eat many times, over to friends' houses, the mall, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc. He always does great. He really seems to enjoy being out of the house. He has now learned to turn over in both directions and he's working on sitting up. He also has begun to focus on his hands which he quickly puts into his mouth when he realizes what they are. Believe it or not he really enjoys listening to dad play guitar (he's the first person who will sit still long enough). Well, that's it for now.
